MISSION PAPERS!!!!!

I have finally received my mission call. I will be serving in the South Carolina Columbia Mission. I am really excited to be doing this, but im also nervous. The great thing about getting to go to South Carolina, is the weather is almost the same as in Arkansas, so i dont have to get used to different weather. I report to the MTC October 19 in Provo, Utah :)

Mission update

Hey ya'll!!!! I know that it's been FOREVER since i have blogged, but life has been busy.
On Sunday i spoke with the bishop, and he informed me that the stake president sent my mission papers off and that they are now in Salt Lake City, UT.
It's only a matter of weeks before i receive my calling, and im SO EXCITED.
I am nervous to find out where im going, but i also cant wait to finally be in the mission field. Serving a mission is something i have wanted to do for quite some time now :)
I will be sure to let everyone know where im going once i receive my letter.

LIFE IS GREAT.

one step closer :)

I am now one step closer to being able to submit my mission papers.
I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed Monday morning. I am sore and my face looks like a chipmunks, but it will be worth it when i finally get my calling. I am getting my stitches removed on Monday and I have my interview with the stake president on Tuesday! I will then be able to start submitting my paperwork to serve a mission :)

No need to be perfect

Hey ya'll. I know that its late and i should be sleeping, but i felt like i had to blog what's on my mind tonight. As i was getting cleaned up for bed, i was thinking about my life here in the beautiful state of Utah. I was thinking about how much i love it here. I do have to admit that at first i wasnt really sure i wanted to move to Utah. I didnt want to leave my family, but i prayed about it and well..... i ended up in Utah shortly after.
When i 1st moved to here, i wasnt sure i would like it. I mean I had lived here in Utah before, but now I was going to be far away from my parents and i was scared. This was going to be a new start for me. I would have to get used to living in the city again, instead of the small towns, like in Arizona and Arkansas.I started attending the local singles ward, which was kind of cool because i was now around young adults MY AGE!! Overtime i started attending the church activites, such as FHE. I eventually started making friends and started becoming happy again. I looked forward to attending church every Sunday and i couldnt wait until FHE on Mondays. In our singles ward group we have several different activites during the week, which is a great way to become better friends and even make the new people feel welcome.  Over the past few months, i have become good friends with a group of the other young adults. I LOVE MY SINGLES WARD!!!! In a way, everyone in the ward is friends with everyone else. We all talk to each and make sure everyone, including the visitors, are including in the different activites, classes, and groups. No one judges the other people. They dont judge you because your not the Hollywood perfect size 0. We do have those girls who are a size 0, but no body cares. People dont care whether your fat or skinny, tall or short. They dont judge you by whats on the outside, they judge you by whats on the inside. We have the tall men and women, and then we have the shorter men and women. That doesnt matter though. We are all really good friends and we support each other.
Anyways.... a couple weeks ago on a Monday, 2 of the guys and i were plowing the sidewalks before everyone else started arriving for FHE. This visitor by the name of Katie drove up. She was checking out our ward. She could of stayed in her warm car and watched us, but instead she got out and began helping me put salt on the sidewalks and stairs so that no one would fall on the ice. As we sat inside waiting for everyone else to arrive, her and i began talking. She introduce herself to me and we began talking about several different topics. Her and i found out we had quite alot in common, which was really cool. The next night a group of us went to the movies, and brought Katie along. I wanted her to feel comfortable in the ward and not feel like no one was paying attention to her, and we had a great time hanging out.
Well Katie has now been coming to our Singles Ward for a couple weeks now, and her and i are great friend. I feel as if Katie is that one special friend i have been searching for since i moved here, and i can see our friendship going far.
I now see that there is no need to try your best to be perfect. No one is perfect, and no one wants to be perfect. We are all one big family and nothing can ruin that!!!!!

NO NEED TO BE PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thoughts

So the other day i was cruising through facebook and came upon a message that one of my Arkansas church friends had sent me last year sometime. That message really made me think for awhile today. It made me realize that i controlled how my church life went in Arkansas. If  i wasn't happy, it was because i simply didn't try hard enough. I didn't make an effort to spend time with the girls my age, instead i chose to hangout with the girls younger than me.
At school, i isolated myself. I thought i had friends at school, but we were only friends AT school. We only hung out a couple times outside of school time. We graduated high school in 2009, and believe it or not we no longer talk to each other. After high school graduation, all my classmates seemed to go their separate ways. Some people do still remains friends and even attend college together, but people have moved on with their lives. Every so often i do get the opportunity to talk to some of my old classmates, but we have nothing to say to each other, so the conversations are AWKWARD!!!!!!!!
Anyways..... high school is over and its time to just move on. I live in Utah, and i need to make my own life. I have a great singles ward here and i LOVE my ward. Everyone is nice. I attend as many church activities as i can and i love them. I always look forward to seeing my church friends and hanging out with them. In a way, i am friends with most of the people in my ward. It's hard to believe i have already lived here in Utah for almost 7 months!!!

mission update

Hey Y'all. Sorry I haven't updated my blog lately.
Things have been crazy busy here in Utah for me lately.
As many of you know, i am currently working on my mission papers. I am currently working on the medical and dental papers, which is the last thing i have to do before i can put my information on the official website.
So far everything is going well with the doctor part of the procedure. I will get my results tomorrow. Tomorrow afternoon i will be doing the dentist part of the procedure which I'm praying goes well. I don't think anything will be wrong, besides my wisdom teeth coming in. My wisdom teeth shouldn't cause a problem though because there not very far along on the growing process. I am nervous about going to the dentist though because i have to have x-rays done, and those never go well for me ( I cant stand the plastic in my mouth).
I am getting really excited about the mission, but at the same time I'm nervous. I have wanted to serve a mission for a long time, but i never thought i would actually do it. I guess the biggest thing I'm nervous about, is the interview with the Branch President, and of course the FAREWELL SPEECH. Public speaking has never been my thing, but i will get through it fine.

Mission!

Just so everyone knows, i have decided to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!!! I will start on my mission papers next Sunday and i will leave this May!
Next Sunday, i will be able to start the Temple Prep class and then the mission prep class.
I do have to admit im nervous about serving a mission, but this is something i have wanted to do for a long time now. I am finally going to live my dream!!!!!!
I know that several of my lds church friends ( here in Utah and back home in Arkansas) have gotten married and started there own families, but i have other things i want to fulfill before i start a family. I want to serve a mission, go back to school to become a CNA, and start my career, all before i even think about getting married!
